That’s right, it’s time! Time to find out what’s going to happen to Celie and company on Saturday! It’s also time to find out what makes a ship a Ship-with-a-capital-S, and what powers this sea-going portion of the Castle will have!
Because, it’s true, Celie and her family are not in the Castle just now. Well, King Glower and Bran are back home, but Celie, her mother, Rolf, Lilah, and Pogue have all gone to Grath with Lulath. They’re about to find out how many dogs Lulath’s father has, and what Lulath’s mother thinks a “small party” looks like. They’re also going to finish putting together the Ship, and take it out on the ocean for a little spin . . . with very exciting consequences!
And I’m very excited about this book! It was fun to spend some time out of the Castle, and on the ocean, with my favorite Glower family. It was fun to have them discover . . . HAHAHAHA! Don’t worry! I’m not going to spoil THAT. But I don't think it's a spoiler to say that this might be the last book about Castle Glower! Yes, it's true. As of right now, I am anxious to move on to other projects, and so I am wrapping up the adventures of Celie and friends right here on Saturday. I have quite a few non-Castle books that I've put aside over the years, and now it's their turn! Do I not love the Castle anymore? Of course I love the Castle! But I also love . . . horses . . . ;) and possibly . . . other fairy tales . . .
Anyway, it was fun to get to Saturday!
You know what else is fun? Book tour!
That’s right, it’s time for Ye Satudayes att Sea Booke Tour!
I’m posting the poster at the bottom of this . . . post. And also make sure you check the events page on the website! In addition to the formal tour, I will be at places like the Davis County Family Literacy Night! And the Tween Author Boot Camp in Provo! So keep your eyes peeled for Jessica sightings! I know I can't go to every town/bookstore/school, and I actually don't even choose where I go, so sorry if I'm nowhere near you. Maybe next tour!
And remember: if I’m not coming to a store/school/library near you but you want a signed book anyway, you can always call The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City. They can ship you a fresh, signed, personalized, stamped, and bookmarked copy of any of my books any time!
I will also be sending out a newsletter in the next few days, with a list of books that Jessica Recommends, so make sure you sign up if you want to know what books I love. And keep your eyes peeled for the SATURDAYS AT SEA page, which will have the usual info like Why I Wrote It, and The Inside Joke. (As well as a story about the book, my editor, and a monkey that is just never gonna stop being funny to me.)
So that’s all the news for now! I hope to see you soon!
