Knit 1, slip next 3 stitches to cable needle and hold them BEHIND your work, knit next 3 stitches, then knit stitches off the cable needle. Slip next3 stitches onto cable needle, hold cable needle in FRONT of your work, knit next 3 stitches, then stitches off the cable needle. K1, YO, slip 1, K2tog, pass slipped stitch over, YO, K5.

Knit rows 1 and 2 until you have 10 rows after that first cable row. Knit the Cable Row, followed by Row 2, then rows 1 and 2 for 10 rows again. Continue in this manner until scarf is desired length, I personally like them about 5 feet long. Knit 8 rows garter stitch and cast off.
